Celebrities in Hollywood are favored for a variety of reasons. Some people seem to have a golden ticket to all of the best movies and TV series. However, other celebrities have been less well-off. One thing that can completely ruin a celebrity’s career is being banned.
No celeb wants to be on the wrong side of Hollywood’s decision-makers. However, some of the most successful celebrities have been prohibited from participating in some of the best films to which they had grown used. The reasons for being banned vary and could encompass altercations with other celebrities, perpetrating heinous crimes, or being merely on the opposing side of some notable individuals.
Kevin Spacey
Kevin Spacey is one of the most recent celebrities to be blacklisted. He came under fire after actor Anthony Rapp claimed in 2017 that Spacey sexually abused him while he was still a minor. Soon after, other performers made similar charges
Bill Cosby
Cosby is another actor who has been blacklisted as a result of similar charges. He was accused of sexual assault by multiple women beginning in 2014. He got locked up in 2018 and had served a sentence until 2021.
Roman Polanski
Roman Polanski, a Polish filmmaker, rose to prominence in Hollywood thanks to his talent. That collapsed in 1977 when he was found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. He escaped the United States and continues making films in Europe, but if he ever returns, he could face jail time.
