Once again, the joke about women being poor drivers from the 1970s never seems to die. While the language has shifted from “dumb” to “basic,” it is still far from acceptable.
58. Old Gold Cigarettes (the 1950s)
Now we observe a woman on her knees holding a pack of cigarettes in front of a man who adores the Old Gold Brand. Should we be “grateful” that she receives a crown at all?
59. The Establishment Wig (1968)
Many activities were deemed taboo and unprofessional back then; therefore, we don’t believe this is a bad notion. It’s simply a shame the men’s wig didn’t fall off since the women’s did.
60. The Fifth Season (the 1970s)
After reading the marketing copy, we’re not sure if this advertising is for a jumpsuit or a sex toy. However, it must have worked because everyone wore them in the 1970s.
