After her divorce from Woods, Nordegren devoted more of her attention to earning her psychology degree, which she found therapeutic in overcoming the divorce. She pursued her studies one class at a time over nine years until graduating from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, with a 3.96 GPA in 2014. She delivered the commencement address for her graduating class, reflecting on the media attention surrounding her separation from Woods. “Education has been the one constant in my life over the past nine years, providing me with solace. It’s something that no one can ever take away from you,” Nordegren stated.

Addressing her classmates directly, she added, “When you shared stories of juggling full-time day jobs, cooking dinner for your families, and ensuring your children were cared for while attending classes, you inspired me. Your stories and openness helped me gain perspective and navigate through whatever obstacles I faced at the time.”

Nordegren also reminisced about being “suddenly thrust into the media spotlight” shortly after taking a communication and media course. “I should have taken better notes in that class!” she joked. Nordegren told PEOPLE that her aim with her speech was to inspire other mothers to pursue their own education. “If I can motivate even one mom to return and earn her degree, with the message that it’s never too late, then I’ll be content,” she said.

She has been in several relationships since her divorce from Woods

Following her divorce from Woods, Nordegren began dating. Her first relationship post-divorce was with American financier Jamie Dingman in 2011, but they parted ways after less than a year together. Sources indicated that she wasn’t prepared for a serious commitment at that time.

In 2013, Nordegren started dating West Virginia coal billionaire Chris Cline, who was 20 years older than her. According to a source speaking to PEOPLE at the time, their relationship began as a friendship that evolved into a romance. However, the source also described their relationship as “nothing serious” and “casual” at that point.

Nordegren and Cline were in a relationship for four years before parting ways in 2017. Tragically, in 2019, Cline and his daughter, Kameron, lost their lives in a helicopter crash off the coast of the Bahamas.
