She and Woods married in October 2004
After nearly three years of dating, Woods and Nordegren tied the knot in Barbados in October 2004. They selected the tropical destination for its stunning beaches and privacy. Security guards ensured that onlookers stayed clear of the couple and their 200 guests, which included family, friends, and sports celebrities like Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley.
According to a source who spoke to PEOPLE, Woods remained calm on the big day. “He didn’t seem like someone about to get married,” the source said. “He was very relaxed as if it was just another day for him.”
She has two children with Woods
Nordegren and Woods welcomed their first child, daughter Sam Alexis Woods, on June 18, 2007. They named her as a tribute to the nickname Woods’ father used for him during his childhood.
Two years later, on February 8, 2009, the couple welcomed their son, Charlie Axel Woods. The golf pro explained that they chose his name because it “just fit,” while his middle name honors Nordegren’s brother. Both children spent ample time on the golf course as they grew up and were often seen cheering their father on alongside Nordegren at Woods’ tournaments.
Charlie followed in his father’s footsteps and became a competitive golfer himself. The father-son duo occasionally compete together, most recently at the PNC Championship in December 2022. Charlie also attempted to qualify for the PGA Tour in February 2024 but did not succeed. In March 2024, Charlie and his high school golf team received their championship rings after winning the state title in November 2023. Woods and Nordegren attended the ceremony to celebrate this special achievement with their son.
